There's a strong sense of motion in this piece, but the directionality is a little difficult to classify. I think I'll call it oblique, because two different diagonals (branch, fabric, crows) meet in the center to form a rough chevron. The branch is the main source of this, and is harmonized by the billowing fabric in the background. The work is monochromatic, with red appearing in isolated patches (dress, scarf-like fabric, lips). The red serves to emphasize the female figure in the center. At first, this figure seems innocent due to the brightness of the work and her peaceful expression. But because of its connotations of blood, passion, anger, etc., the fabric and the desolate background suggest that the girl is a destructive force. She sits serenely amidst the powerful motion of her scarf, and the crows seem to be flocking to her, as though upon her command. These, and her idealized body, lead me to believe that she is some sort of goddess or powerful being - she reminds me a bit of the Celtic Morrigan.
This is already a beautifully done work, so I don't have much to suggest. The shading in the elbows seems a bit weird to me, almost suggesting that they're bending backwards. In addition, the line of the horizon seems to be over-emphasized; a vaguer line might better convey atmospheric perspective. The emptiness and amount of light work well with the piece, but if you wanted to try something different, perhaps consider some sort of overlay to create a darker mood - I'm a fan of mammantus clouds, myself.
And as always, take my advice and views with a grain of salt - you're the artist, and it is you who holds the power to make or unmake this piece. And with or without further revision, this is a very strong, compelling piece. Good job!
